...and the deer won.
4 dents in the passenger side door, one big one in the quarter panel, big scratch in the passenger fender,no mirror left, and now it pulls hard to the right. Nothing was hurt expect for my carfax, but alas its already in the body shop in a matter of hours (thank god I work for a dealership)
Anybody feel like guessing what this repair is going to cost?

Dumb deer. Luckily it doesn’t look as bad as it could have been. Nice F56 by the way.

Nah should be an easy fix. And thank you! I leased it from my time working with Mini and now that the M3 is in the shop I’m back to driving it. I forgot how fun they can be in traffic and corners.

My guess was $3,800 but I’ll know by the end of the week.

The quarter panel is the big variable to me. If it’s easier to pull it will be cheaper. But it looks like a compound impact on a body line.
Sorry to see this happen. I’m glad you are OK though. Deer strikes can mess you up.

Yeah I think its creased to bad, and with where it is on the body line, just pulling it wouldn’t return it to the proper shape.

Hopefully they are able to get your M3 back to 100% for you quickly.

Sucks to see such a nice piece of Bavarian machinery hurt like that!
Had a close encounter with one of Bambi’s offspring last year. These things are amazingly stupid for such a large animal.
The only positive thing here is that it didn’t come through the windshield to sit on your lap.

Oh I told them not to rush. I was going to store it for the winter in the next few weeks anyways, so at this point it’s like free storage, but I am excited to have it back and better than ever.

It was a big one too. I’m guessing about 120 and 8 pointer. And I’m pretty sure he lived too. Tough son of a gun I guess.

I’m sure it’s not what you want to hear when your ride is damaged at all, but where I’m from (#4 state for deer collisions), I’d call that a tie. Any damage sucks, but having seen the front end of my wife’s car caved in and totalled, I’d take this as a tie. Good luck, man, it still sucks.

Oh I totally understand. I totaled a car out 2 years ago so I wasn’t to upset with this one. New York makes you immune to this crap.

If I was smarter, I’d create a bot that responds with the YouTube link of Louis CK’s bit on “fucking deer” whenever anyone posts about hitting one.

Well at least for now you have a fun car to get you through the winter and are not stuck in some base model Versa.

Ooof sucks man. Looks like PDR will take car of that dent, those side view mirrors are around $400 each if they’re the auto dimming M3 ones.

Yeah they are, and I think it has a bunch of PDR, but the fender is scratched pretty deep and will probably need a repaint.

Eh they are going full price since it is going to be on the insurance company’s dime

A repaint might make it not match the rest of the body panels depending on how new the paint job is, it might be better off to touch up the scratch with matched paint rather than having one fender slightly ‘off’ in color.

Paint is original from what I know. But I guess my bodyshop is really good so I guess only time will tell.

If it’s original, then a repaint won’t match because the color would have faded since it started. So you’ll have one ‘vibrant’ fender and a bunch of dulled body panels.
